shoes & travel

My shoes are too small. That’s what I get for buying two pairs for a tenner in ‘Discount Shoe Warehouse’. Cheap yes, but I didn’t realise the discount would be on the actual shoes as well. I’m going to America very soon. To be honest I haven’t thought about it much, but in 16 days time I jet off to Chicago to spend two weeks in the US.

I haven’t been on holiday outside the UK for six years, and that was to the US, New York. It was three months before 911. We went up the trade centre lift to the restaurant just to look out the windows. And now it’s not there :(

Last time I nearly wasn’t allowed out of the country due to having in my posession a sachet of cup-a-soup and a  bike spanner. Upon questioning my response to carrying these items was a) if I was hungry and knackered at the other end there’s always a kettle in the hotel room, and b) bike spanners are, well, just handy to have on you. oh dear.

The Glee Club

I’m in Birmingham bloging in an internet cafe, how camp am I? Well, not as camp as the ‘gay district’ I found this aternoon.

Bumming around in Birmingham, no, not literally I’m here for my evening work (that sounds even worse). I was distracted this afternoon by a man who wanted to show me his dog, he came right up to me put his hand on my shoulder and pointed at a sick looking alsation in a doorway. I’ll be honest both man and dog looked rough as badgers, and distressed me to the point where I just wanted to move away quickly, but not wanting to upset either, the only thing I could think to say was ’sorry, I’m dogaphobic’. oh dear.
